Residents and visitors to Gdańsk can now enjoy a new extension to the city's tram network. The newly-opened 1.7 km extension runs along the recently-built Nowa Warszawska road from Ujescisko to Przemyska, linking two existing tram lines in the south of the city.
The extension, featuring three stops, was built by a consortium of Firma Budowlano-Drogowa MTM and Rajbud under a contract signed in February 2021. Civil works began in early March 2021 and were completed in December 2022. The cost of the extension, amounting to almost PLN 60 million, was part-funded by the EU.
