The Greek Ministry of Transport released a 228-page report from a special investigative commission examining the fatal train collision on 28 February in northern Greece.

As reported by Ekathimerini, the report is divided into ten sections and places blame for the accident in Tempi on state-owned railway company OSE, its subsidiary ERGOSE, the Railways Regulatory Authority (RSA), private train operator Hellenic Train, and Hellenic Train itself.

Additionally, the report assigns blame to the station manager and the deceased drivers for allegedly not following rules. The three-member expert commission emphasized the need for railway modernization, highlighting chronic issues and the necessity of implementing fundamental changes in staff movement and training.

It is important to note that the conclusions of the commission are independent of the official judicial investigation into the railway disaster.
