The new railway station in Racibory is another facility of this type built by PKP S.A. in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. It is a modern, environmentally-friendly building adapted to local needs. Today it was open for travelers.

The station construction in Racibory is the ninth investment in the Podlaskie Voivodeship carried out as part of the Station Investment Programme 2016-2023. The investment was co-financed by the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment.

The new railway station in Racibory is a small building characterized by a contemporary and minimalist architectural form, with a distinctive eight-meter-high clock tower. It was built according to the formula of a typical Innovative System Station (the so-called IDS-A variant). All station functions have been placed under the shelter and the volume building. Under the shelter, there is a waiting area sheltered on three sides with several seats. Radiant heaters have been installed to increase the thermal comfort of travelers waiting for trains in the autumn and winter months. There are also bicycle racks and a repair station for unicycles. Modern electronic boards display train arrival and departure information. There is also a toilet for passengers adapted to the needs of people with disabilities (PRM).

"The number of comfortable, traveler-friendly, and environmentally friendly train stations in Poland is steadily increasing. The new station in Racibory is further proof that we care about passenger comfort not only in large cities but also in smaller towns. I am convinced that it is investments, such as the construction of the new railway station in Racibory, that will make residents even more willing to choose rail for their daily journeys. Thanks to such investments, Poles can see that large government investments are also carried out in their small homelands," says Maciej Małecki, Secretary of State at the Ministry of State Assets.

"The opening of the Racibory station is another element of the great modernization of the Polish railway. Thanks to this, the inhabitants of yet another small town will gain access to safe and comfortable railway infrastructure. I hope that the building, completed in the Innovative System Station formula, will become a landmark of Racibory and make it easier for passengers to travel by train to Warsaw and Białystok. This is all thanks to the Station Investment Programme, under which the Polish government will allocate more than PLN 2 billion for the modernization of nearly 200 railway stations by 2023," says Andrzej Bittel, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure.

"The construction of the new station in Racibory is another investment carried out by PKP S.A. in the Podlaskie Voivodeship as part of the Station Investment Programme 2016-2023. It is also another facility in the Voivodeship that was made available to travelers this year. We recently opened stations in Wasilków and Kuźnica Białostocka," says Ireneusz Maślany, member of the PKP S.A. Management Board.

The station in Racibory is fully adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility. It has several facilities such as, among others, guided paths, Braille signage, and tactile boards with a plan of the facility.

The station has also implemented environmental solutions and taken care of passenger safety. The building is equipped with a BMS (Building Management System) for monitoring installations and equipment to optimize electricity, heat, and water consumption. Energy-efficient lighting was used and photovoltaic panels were installed on the roof of the station. The Racibórz station was also equipped with modern monitoring, access control, and burglary and assault alarm systems.

As part of the investment, the area around the station building was also cleaned up and landscaped. New pavements were laid and greenery was tidied up. A small car park with spaces for five vehicles was also created at the station, including a disabled parking space.

The construction of the station in Racibory is part of the Station Investment Programme 2016-2023 and is the ninth finalized project in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. The program also includes stations in Zdrody Nowe, Czyżew, Suwałki, Dąbrowa Białostocka, and Łapy. The new station in Racibory was built as part of PKP S.A.'s original project to design and build small, and modern railway stations tailored to local needs. The gross cost of the investment in Racibory was PLN 3.7 million. The investor was Polskie Koleje Państwowe S.A., the design and construction work was carried out by SKB S.A. from Warsaw.
