In the last week of March, the regional Polish carrier Koleje Mazowieckie (KM) officially took over the 29th modern EZT ER160 unit manufactured at the Stadler Polska plant in Siedlce. This vehicle was acquired under a contract concluded in September 2020, based on which 12 units are to be produced, 10 of which have already been delivered. The trains are intended for connections on regional routes in the Mazovia region. The value of this contract is almost PLN 400 million gross, of which EU co-financing amounted to approximately PLN 120 million.

''On-time delivery of orders for our customers is a top priority for Stadler. We are still facing major difficulties in our supply chains, which are exacerbated by the current geopolitical situation. These disrupt production schedules, but also harm costs. It is a huge challenge for manufacturers, not only in our sector. We are pleased that, despite the difficulties, we are handing over another vehicle to Mazovia Railways on time. This is the outcome of good cooperation and determination of both parties," says Tomasz Prejs, CEO of Stadler Polska.

Thanks to modern trains, passengers are increasingly choosing rail as their daily means of transport to work, school, or university. They appreciate not only the comfort of travel and high quality of service, but above all safety.

"Green rail is also an environmentally friendly means of public transport, which is an important and indisputable advantage, especially for the younger generation. I would also like to assure you that despite the difficult current situation, the implementation of the contract is going smoothly. We owe it to all the KM and Stadler Polska employees. I would like to express my sincere thanks to them for that," said Czesław Sulima, Member of the Board of Directors, Chief Operating Officer of Koleje Mazowieckie.
