Alstom has marked the inauguration of the extended Paris Metro Line 14, which now runs from Saint-Denis Pleyel to Orly Airport, allowing passengers to travel the route in just 40 minutes. The new MP14 trains, designed and manufactured by Alstom, are expected to serve up to one million passengers daily.

To meet the demands of this extensive project, Alstom implemented an unprecedented mobilization plan at its Valenciennes Petite-Forêt site, where a second production line was opened, and the workforce was increased. More than 1,000 Alstom employees across seven sites in France worked to produce nearly one MP14 trainset per week. Jean-Baptiste Eyméoud, President of Alstom France, praised the team's efforts, stating, "This success is the result of the unwavering commitment of our employees, who have deployed their expertise and know-how to design and deliver a high-quality product in a timely manner so that we can meet the deadlines for these extensions."

The MP14 trains boast several features aimed at improving passenger experience and sustainability. These trains are designed with "boa" architecture for easy movement throughout the train, LED lighting, warm and cooled ventilation, and a video-protection system for safety. The MP14's electric braking system also recovers energy, reducing energy consumption by nearly 20% and ensuring the trains are 95% recyclable. In total, seventy-two MP14 trains have been ordered for Line 14, financed by Île-de-France Mobilités and operated by RATP.
