"Such a quick nomination of PKP.appka to the prestigious Mobile Trend Awards is a huge honour for us. Especially since the services category included apps that have been on the market for years. It is also an important impulse for us to further develop PKP.appka so that it meets the expectations of its growing number of users," says Krzysztof Mamiński, CEO of PKP S.A.
The PKP.appka can be voted for until February 16 at mobiletrendsawards.pl. The application created for travellers by PKP S.A. in cooperation with PKP Informatika is a modern travel assistant combining various functions. PKP.appka is the first guide to railway stations, thanks to which we can check their location and information on services and infrastructure available at them, such as waiting rooms, ticket offices, toilets, luggage storage rooms, bicycle racks or facilities for people with limited mobility.
The app also provides information on retail and service outlets located at individual stations. Travellers will also find tips, such as the temporary organization of pedestrian traffic at a station or the functioning of a temporary station during ongoing renovations.
An important function of the new app is the SOS button enabling a quick connection to PKP S.A. security services working around the clock. The PKP.appka will also check the real-time updated timetable of departures and arrivals of trains, search for connections or – by redirecting to the BILKOM store – buy a ticket.
