Travel by train between Mallnitz and Villach along the famous Möll and Drava cycle paths with or without a bike - load up, set off, and get on or off at the point where the bike tour or hike begins and ends. Together with the Hohe Tauern National Park, the price offer was also created with the Sparschiene for long-distance and local trains from EUR 9.90 from all over Carinthia to Mallnitz.

Climate Protection and National Park Regional Councillor Sara Schaar invite you to also take advantage of this offer of a climate-friendly and cost-effective journey to the Hohe Tauern National Park: "Transport is the largest cause of greenhouse gas emissions in Carinthia with over 40 percent. That is why we in Carinthia are strongly committed to public transport expansion. This offer is a further incentive to switch to the climate-friendly train. After all, those who travel by train instead of by car reduce CO2 emissions by an average of 93 percent."

Climate-friendly to the Hohe Tauern National Park

With ÖBB, the Hohe Tauern National Park can be discovered in a particularly climate-friendly and comfortable way. The national park community of Mallnitz is a particularly attractive destination thanks to its direct train connection and, with its visitor center (www.besucherzentrum-mallnitz.at), it offers the perfect introduction to the world of Austria's largest protected area. Whether it's an animated landslide, the smallest survival artists, mysterious wilderness, or species-rich fauna, the interactive exhibition Univerzoom Nationalpark conveys the natural wonders of the Hohe Tauern entertainingly and, with the integrated research workshop Valuable Water, ensures exciting discoveries at diverse experiment stations. You can also learn from nature as part of the additional (approx. 3.5-hour) range of lab workshops dedicated to the world of herbs, adaptation strategies of the animal and plant world, and climate phenomena.

"The perfect conclusion to the climate-friendly nature experience is the colorful summer program of the Hohe Tauern National Park or the individual discovery of the Seebach Valley, including the natural jewel Lake Stappitz," says National Park Director Peter Rupitsch.
