Ukrainian Railways have rekindled rail connections by launching a service between Lviv and Warsaw, a route that had been dormant for nearly two decades. This restored connection involves a transition at the Rava-Ruska checkpoint, where travellers switch from the Ukrainian-gauge train to its European-gauge counterpart managed by Polish carrier SKPL, ensuring seamless travel between the two regions.
Designed to carry roughly 200 passengers in both 1st and 2nd class seating, the entire trip spans approximately 9 hours, with fares commencing at 1188 hryvnias. The inaugural journey from Lviv to Warsaw embarked on time, as shared by Oleksandr Shevchenko, the head of communications and marketing for Ukrainian Railways' passenger route, who celebrated the event with published photos.
Tickets are conveniently accessible via the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app, their main website, chatbots, and international ticket offices.
