The Gerhard-Bronner garage opposite the entrance of Vienna Central Station has been expanded with seven new cars as part of the ÖBB Rail&Drive carsharing service. Since 20 April 2022, the underground parking lot at the central station has been ready for use with 2 VW ID 3s, 1 Seat Mii (electric car), 2 VW Golfs and 2 VW Golf Variants. It means that ÖBB Rail&Drive, with 40 locations in 34 cities, offers its 16,000 registered customers a choice of around 400 vehicles.

In addition to the Gerhard-Bronner garage opposite the main station, Rail&Drive points are available in Vienna's Aspern Seestadt, Floridsdorf, Penzing, Praterstern and Westbahnhof. In addition, this year, ÖBB is expanding the Rail&Drive branch in Salzburg and plans to open a new one in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg.

The Rail&Drive service is simple to use and user-friendly, and several carsharing benefits cannot be overlooked:

-        Rail&Drive outlets are located throughout Austria and offer different types of vehicles depending on the demand

-        carsharing offers fair prices based on individual rental terms and distances

-        pick up and drop off your car at any time

-        Rail&Drive has 24-hour phone support.

Booking and renting cars is easy and affordable: one only needs to register at railanddrive.at, or in the wegfinder.app. After that the user can hit the road as soon as the user registers at one of the ÖBB Rail&Drive outlets, shows their driver's license, and receives a customer card. Journeys are billed based on time and kilometre graded fares. In addition, customers with an ÖBB Österreichcard, ÖBB Vorteilscard or Klimaticket will receive a registration fee of €19.90 as a starting bonus. ÖAMTC or ARBÖ members and Wiener Linien annual ticket holders also get a free registration.
