At this year's first Paradies Garten Festival on August 5, 6, and 7 in Bruck an der Leitha, sustainability will be the top priority. To make the arrival and departure of visitors from the Vienna metropolitan area environmentally friendly, ÖBB will provide additional trains to and from Bruck an der Leitha on the festival weekend. It brings the organizers one step closer to their declared goal of becoming Austria's most sustainable festival.
The aim of ÖBB's green mobility partnership with the Paradies Garten Festival is to reduce car traffic around the festival to a minimum. At most music festivals, the majority of the total CO2 emissions are caused by the arrival and departure of the visitors. The cooperation between ÖBB and the Paradies Garten Festival aims to reduce the number of visitors arriving by car to less than 40 percent and thus reduce the festival's CO2 footprint by a good tenth. The noise reduction in Bruck an der Leitha and the resulting reduced disturbance for residents due to the absence of cars are further positive side effects.
