The President of the Polish Railway Authority (UTK) has issued a decision to start Regiojet trains on the Wien Hbf international line. - Przemyśl Główny - Wien Hbf.
A private Czech carrier received a permit for passenger rail transport on the Polish section. Valid for a course of 5 years, from 12.12.2021 to 12.12.2026. On this route, RegioJet will provide one pair of trains each day, which will stop at the following stations:
Wien Hbf, Bratislava hl.st., Břeclav, Hodonín, Staré Město u Uherského Hradiště, Otrokovice, Přerov, Hranice na Moravě, Ostrava-Svinov, Ostrava hl.n., Bohumín, Czechowice-Dziedzice, Kraków Główny, Tarnów, Rzeszów Główny, Przemyśl Główny, and then in the opposite direction
The set for this connection should be assembled from 6-12 passenger cars, pulled by a Siemens Vectron or Bombardier TRAXX locomotive.
Opening access to this line is another step in Regiojet's expansion on the Polish railway market. Last month, the Polish UTK approved a Regiojet train connection from Warsaw to the Netherlands and Belgium.
