On August 22, a train collided with a man at a level crossing in Třešt', Czech Rebuplic. Rescuers were unable to help the man, and he succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The passengers were left without injuries.

A train collided with a man in Třešt' in the Jihlava region in the Czech Republic shortly after 1 p.m. on August 22. Workers from the Havlíčkův Brod Railway Administration, firefighters, rescue workers and police officers intervened at the scene. The firefighters eventually managed to get the young man out from under the train, and the rescuers fought for his life.

However, all efforts were in vain, and the man succumbed to his severe injuries on the spot. Fortunately, the passengers on the train and the driver were unharmed. Firefighters evacuated 33 people from the train. Traffic was subsequently stopped for several hours on the Třešt' - Telč section, and passengers were able to use alternative bus transport.

The causes of the accident are being investigated by criminal investigators and railway inspectors. According to the available information, the breath test of the driver came out negative, and it seems that the young man was shortening his journey through the local level crossing. What led him to do this is unlikely to be known, and the subject of the investigation should be whether the warning signals at the level crossing were working properly at the time.
