In an exclusive interview with RAILTARGET, Katarína Magdechová, CEO of ZVKV and organiser of the company's yearly conference, imparted her thoughts on the event and provided updates concerning ZVKV.

What do you think about the course of the conference?

I perceive the course of the conference very positively, also considering the number of participants, currently 97, which is above expectations. We were very surprised that so many attended. There were also representatives of companies that are not members of our association. Our satisfaction was also reflected in the discussions.

What were the biggest challenges faced by the WVC in the last year?

Over the last year, the biggest challenge we faced was the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, after which we had to mobilise and start operating in a standard mode, which includes, for example, preparing various seminars and other activities for our members. Another challenge for us is the development of the Digital Automatic Coupler. We needed to inform and involve as many of our members as possible in its development.

Who are your biggest clients, and what criteria do applicants for membership need to meet?

Primarily, our clients are holders of rolling stock registered in the Slovak Republic, recognised persons responsible for the maintenance of rolling stock registered in the Slovak Republic and others who meet the criteria set out in the statutes. However, we are also open to applications for membership from various areas of the railway sector.
