The IRFC 2022 conference (5-7 October 2022) in Prague is the most important railway sector event of the Czech EU Presidency, bringing together the top European rail leaders to discuss current trends and challenges in the sector. The fifth session will focus on the TEN-T transport network.

European rail transport is facing an important event. Prague will host the International Rail Forum and Conference (IRFC) from 5-7 October, featuring several leading speakers from the Czech and international scenes. The conference is thematically divided into five sections. In previous articles, we have informed you about the content of the first and third sections, followed by the second and fourth. The first four sections will thus focus on interoperability, railways in the post-Covid era, research and innovation and VRT.

The RAILTARGET editorial team now brings you exclusive information about the fifth session of IRFC 2022! Its theme will be the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) and will take place on the second day in the morning session.

This session will be moderated by Elżbieta Łukaniuk, a Member of the Cabinet of the Commissioner for Transport of the European Commission. Presentations will then be given by the Slovak Ministry of Transport and Construction, the Ministry of Defence on the topic of military mobility, the Railway Administration will present the Vindobona project and the CIT organisation will contribute to the legal aspects of international transport and transport in different legal regimes. The Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure, Oleksandr Kubrakov, is also expected to participate online.

Again, there will be a panel discussion with representatives of Ukrainian Railways, the IBS organization and other important discussants.

You will learn more about the plans for the future development of the TEN-T, the possibilities to influence the capacity of the existing infrastructure in favour of freight rail transport or the possible connection of Ukraine to the TEN-T as a strategic factor in its post-war reconstruction. This year's IRFC conference will bring a lot of interesting information about what the railways are facing in the coming years.
