RAILTARGET presents you with yet another interview from the most prominent event of the railway sector in 2022, InnoTrans. Philipp Brunner, Executive Vice President at Stadler, talked about the company's biggest achievements this year and shared some details about their new hydrogen train.

What are your goals for InnoTrans, and how do you like it?

Our goal for InnoTrans is, of course, to present our company to all of our stakeholders. We are always trying to sell our product to our clients or potential clients, but also, we like to present ourselves to the supplier industry, business partners, as well as politicians and just the general public, the passengers that enjoy riding our vehicles.

Could you tell us more about your company?

Stadler is one of the worldwide-known railway vehicle manufacturers. We are a large player in Europe, but also, we are manufacturing and delivering in the United States. So today, I think Stadler is very well represented at this exhibition, InnoTrans, as one of the top largest railway vehicle manufacturers.

And what are Stadler's biggest achievements this year?

I can say that our biggest achievement in 2022 is the very successful sales volume we have had in the first half of the year. Stadler has sold projects around the globe for more than EUR 6 billion, which has exceeded our sales targets, and we are very proud that we were able to go into so many new and huge cooperations with new clients.

Could you quickly introduce your new hydrogen FLIRT train to us?

Yes, sure. It is an innovation by Stadler for our client in California. This vehicle is a very innovative one meant for infrastructure without electrification. It can work with zero carbon footprint, can replace diesel vehicles and operate with the same reach in such infrastructure without electrification. We are hoping this vehicle will be sold not only in the United States but also to many customers in the European Union.
