The twelfth edition of the International Railway Summit is now taking place in Rome, Italy, from 21 to 23 February 2023. It is a gathering of the world's key buyers in the railway sector and carefully selected technical experts.

The International Railway Summit (IRS) is a gathering of key global buyers in the rail sector and carefully selected technical experts. The twelfth edition (IRS12) of the Summit will be held in Rome, Italy from 21 to 23 February 2023.

The way it usually works is that the project requirements of the buyer are compared with the solutions of the experts, which then leads to 30-minute one-to-one meetings during the IRS conference.

In addition, delegates also attend a conference program delivered by key industry leaders and experts and network with industry peers and potential business partners over lunches, dinners, and site visits.

Presenters included Matteo Salvini, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Michael Theurer, Federal Government Commissioner for Rail Transport, Luigi Ferraris, Managing Director, and others.

Conference program:

Presentations, welcome ceremony, and dinner on 21 February.

On 22 February, delegates visited the control center used on the Rome to Naples route between 1920 and 1999 and learned about its traffic management system. In addition, delegates will see the fine architecture of the new unique car park, which was built when the station was in operation and can accommodate 1,200 cars over the platform.

On 23 February, delegates can look forward to traveling to and from Naples on the Italo high-speed train. On board the train, delegates will learn about the design and construction of the ETCS Level 2 system, including semi-autonomous control, and have the opportunity to visit the driver's cab.
