What is the connection between trains and Christmas?! Nowadays it seems like trains have always been connected to the Christmas traditions. Every year we can see sceneries of trains rushing through the snow. Many of the Christmas movies incorporate railroads into their scenes, train models are historically one of the most popular Christmas gifts, but it has not always been like that!
It's that time of year again when the Christmas tree is piled high with gifts. Opening a toy train set and assembling it to run under the Christmas tree was a natural thing to do. The traditions date back to around 100 years ago to the early 1900s. Ambitious manufacturer Lionel was just about to start production of the first electric toy trains! His train models became so popular that it created a whole new hobby which millions of people around the world fell in love with, model railroads!
