The transport logistic 2023 trade fair is currently underway in Munich, where Siemens Mobility and FS Italiane Group, together with its subsidiary TX Logistik AG, have signed a contract for the delivery of 40 Vectron locomotives. The contract includes a 15-year service contract (in the form of a "full service") with an optional extension of service until the next relevant inspection and an option agreement for a further 25 locomotives. Production of the locomotives will take place at the Siemens Mobility plant in Munich-Allach. The value of the order is approximately €300 million.

The Vectrons for TX Logistik are modern, digitally connected locomotives that will be deployed in freight transport on the Rhine-Alps corridor in five different countries. The Railigent X application, which is part of the Siemens Xcelerator open digital platform, will enable predictive maintenance of the entire Vectron locomotive fleet according to current status, increasing reliability and ensuring optimal vehicle availability.
The Vectron locomotives for TX Logistik will reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h and will be equipped with the European Train Control System ETCS and national train control systems for operation in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Italy. Maintenance of the Vectron locomotives will be provided by the Railcover service network located along the Rhine-Alps corridor.

Siemens Mobility has already sold more than 1,700 Vectron locomotives to 63 customers in 16 countries. The Vectron fleet has covered more than 700 million kilometres on its journeys to date. The locomotives are approved for operation in 20 European countries.
