Cutting-edge technologies, zero-emission mobility, and readiness for high-speed rail construction will be among the key themes at Rail Business Days 2026 in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Taking place from 9–11 June at Trojhalí Karolina, the event will bring together railway manufacturers, operators, infrastructure managers and technology suppliers from across Europe to discuss the future of sustainable and efficient rail transport.
Rail Business Days Strengthens Its Position in Central Europe
Over the past several years, Rail Business Days has established itself as one of the most important railway industry gatherings in Central Europe. The exhibition gives a platform for manufacturers, infrastructure specialists, operators and policymakers to showcase new technologies, exchange expertise and discuss the challenges facing the sector.
The 2026 edition comes at a time when European railways are under increasing pressure to support climate objectives, improve network capacity and accelerate digital transformation. Across the continent, governments and railway companies are investing heavily in modern rolling stock, infrastructure upgrades and signalling systems in an effort to make rail transport more competitive with road and air travel.

Battery Trains and Sustainable Mobility in Focus
One of the major themes of this year's event will be zero-emission mobility. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore battery-powered rail technology, which is increasingly viewed as a practical solution for replacing diesel traction on non-electrified routes.
Among the headline exhibits will be a new-generation battery-electric multiple unit (BEMU), a technology that is already operating in passenger service in the Moravian-Silesian region. Battery trains are attracting growing interest across Europe as railway operators seek to reduce emissions without the significant infrastructure costs associated with full electrification. Manufacturers will also present a range of solutions designed to improve energy efficiency, reduce operating costs and support more sustainable transport systems.
Digitalisation Remains a Key Industry Priority
Alongside alternative propulsion technologies, digitalisation continues to be one of the defining trends shaping the railway sector. Exhibitors will showcase technologies ranging from fleet management platforms and predictive maintenance tools to advanced passenger information systems and onboard electronics.
The implementation of the European Train Control System (ETCS) will remain a central topic of discussion. As European railways continue to deploy the common signalling standard, suppliers are presenting solutions designed to improve interoperability, safety and operational efficiency across national borders.
Digital traffic management systems, real-time diagnostics and data-driven maintenance strategies are also expected to feature prominently throughout the exhibition programme.

The exhibition will feature companies specialising in rolling stock, braking systems, interiors, electronics, signalling technologies, track infrastructure and testing solutions. Among the exhibitors are manufacturers and suppliers presenting technologies for passenger and freight transport, urban mobility systems and railway infrastructure projects.
Visitors will be able to explore innovations ranging from modern seating solutions and onboard electronic systems to advanced switch technologies, braking equipment and specialised testing devices used in the development and certification of railway components.
