Rail Business Days 2026 Continues in Ostrava with Focus on Students, Skills, and Rail Innovation

Rail Business Days 2026 entered its second day in Ostrava on Wednesday, shifting the focus towards railway education, technical expertise, and industry innovation. Alongside the exhibition programme, visitors are attending dedicated workshops and presentations, while students gain first-hand insight into career opportunities across the railway sector.

Following a busy opening day, Rail Business Days continues at the Trojhalí Karolina complex in Ostrava, Czechia, where exhibitors and conference participants are presenting the latest developments in rolling stock, infrastructure, digital technologies and sustainable mobility. The event remains one of the largest railway gatherings in Central Europe, attracting stakeholders from across the sector.

The exhibition runs until 11 June and occupies Halls 1 and 2 as well as adjacent outdoor areas. Visitors can explore both indoor and outdoor displays, including a dedicated rolling stock exhibition stretching across 825 metres of track. In total, exhibitors occupy approximately 5,400 m² of indoor exhibition space and 900 m² of outdoor display areas.

Student Day Highlights Future Railway Careers

One of the key events of the second day is Student Day, taking place in Hall 3 between 10:00 and 14:00. The programme is designed to introduce students to the railway industry and provide them with a closer look at the technologies, professions and career opportunities that support modern rail transport.

The initiative aims to connect young talent with companies operating across the sector at a time when the railway industry is increasingly focused on attracting a new generation of engineers, technicians and transport specialists.

At the same time, Hall 1 hosts a series of presentations organised by Angst+Pfister, focusing on passenger safety, comfort and current technical challenges facing the railway sector.

The sessions examine both technological developments and market trends, highlighting how suppliers and manufacturers are responding to evolving customer expectations, stricter safety requirements and the growing demand for reliable and efficient transport solutions.

Workshop Focuses on Cable Technology Trends

The afternoon programme features a specialised workshop organised by Lapp Czech Republic, taking place in the Suterén conference area of Hall 1.

The workshop is dedicated to current trends in cable technology and explores the role of advanced cabling solutions in modern railway systems, infrastructure projects and transport applications. Industry participants are discussing technological developments, practical implementation and future requirements driven by digitalisation and increasing connectivity across the sector.
