Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited the PESA Bydgoszcz factory, during his regional visit. In addition to the newly produced locomotives, he presented a press briefing in the production hall, during which he emphasized the importance of the railway industry for the Polish economy, including the manufacturer from Bydgoszcz, which was until recently in the red.
‚, The Story of Pesa is a ready-made material for a film screenplay, and this screenplay is becoming more and more interesting, and thanks to a more likely happy ending, this PESA example greatly enriches me that excellent collaboration between managers and employees of plants such as PESA could lead to the fact that this value of the Bydgoszcz economy has been preserved, 'said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Until recently, Pesa Bydgoszcz struggled with debts to save the company, it was decided to enter the company with the investment of the state Polski Fundusz Rozwoju (PFR), which led to the debt relief of the company.
"The decision to invest in PESA has opened up opportunities for us. Thank you for the chance created by PFR President Paweł Borys and his team. We took this opportunity, thanks to the efforts and success of the whole team and also all those who supported us. Today, I can say that the situation of PESA is stable, we manufacture, deliver vehicles on time and get new contracts in Poland and Europe, "said Pesa CEO Krzysztof Zdziarski.
At present, the company manufactures trains for regional carriers in Poland and other customers, for example for České Dráhy,, Regio Jet, trams for the city of Toruň, Kiev, Jassy, Košice and is modernizing passenger cars for PKP Intercity.
In its development, PESA focuses on the "Hydrogen ready" concept. They have been working on the development of hydrogen vehicles for two years, which is why the company entered into strategic alliances with Orlen, PKP, and entered into a technology partnership with ABB and Tuv Sud. The first hydrogen-powered PESA shunting locomotive will have its premiere at this year's TRAKO trade fair, which will take place in September in Gdańsk.
