Dariusz Seliga took part in a panel discussion Via Carpatia – the transport corridor of the Tricity. The head of PKP CARGO presented the framework of the company's activities in the Tricity area, commercial opportunities and the latest rolling stock projects, which will allow PKP CARGO Group to increase its transport in this part of Europe.
"The construction of Via Carpatia is certainly one of the elements of the process of strengthening economic cohesion aimed at eliminating differences in the infrastructure development in Europe. It is a crucial project, which will allow increased trade between the Tricity countries, where we have been offering comprehensive logistics services for years. As a rail carrier, we are counting on work on a similar rail corridor to begin shortly. Now, as PKP CARGO Group, we are the leading rail freight operator in the Tricity region," said Dariusz Seliga.
The PKP CARGO CEO assured that the No. 1 position as the leader of logistics services in the Tricity area is currently a strategic goal for the Group. "In the following years, we intend to strengthen our position using our human and transport potential. The realisation of our strategic objectives for the development of freight transport requires the provision of rolling stock of appropriate functionality and quality. To this end, we have been using available sources of co-financing for rolling stock investments for many years, including from European Union programmes," he added.
