One of the largest events of this autumn is fast approaching. In less than two weeks, the InnoTrans 2022 trade fair will kick off, with the main representatives of the transport sector, be it rail, public transport, or tunnel builders, taking part. And once again, there will be no shortage of indoor and outdoor exhibits, along with several discussion panels and associated events. We have a lot to look forward to!

This autumn brings many exciting events for the rail sector. These will mainly be the International Rail Transport Forum and Conference (IRCF 2022) in Prague and InnoTrans 2022 in Berlin. And the RAILTARGET editorial team will not be missing either of these events! First up, in less than two weeks, we'll be heading to the German capital.

Here, one of the biggest events for the transport sector - InnoTrans 2022 - will take place on 20-23 September, divided into five segments: rail technology, rail infrastructure, public transport, interiors, and tunnel construction. Exhibitors will have access to all 42 halls of the Berlin Congress Centre. And that's not all, there will also be an outdoor exhibition, where 3.5 km of track is available. In total, the fair will occupy 200,000 m² and was last visited by over 150,000 people.

There will also be the opportunity to attend various discussion panels where you can learn more about the topics at hand from industry leaders. You will have the chance to find out about current challenges for the railway, such as digitalization or alternative drives, shaping a workable public transport strategy, or how tunnels are being built today.

The main draw, however, will be the opportunity to see what new technologies the various exhibitors have brought and to talk to them about them. As the classic would say, seeing is better than hearing. InnoTrans 2022 kicks off with an opening ceremony on 20 September at 10:00 a.m., where Messe Berlin CEO Martin Ecknig, Federal Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure Volker Wissing, and EU Transport Commissioner Adina Vălean will give opening remarks. So there's something to look forward to, and the RAILTARGET editorial team would love to meet you, our readers.
