Trains once symbolised safety, now they are targets. Yet Ukraine’s counterattacks show Moscow’s supply lines are just as vulnerable.
For over 20 years, EXPO Ferroviaria has served as a central meeting point for railway professionals, offering a unique platform to exchange expertise and showcase new technologies and industry trends. Exhibitors will include rolling stock manufacturers, signalling and communication system suppliers, as well as companies focusing on maintenance, safety equipment, and IT solutions for rail.
On-Track Displays and Innovation Hubs
A highlight of this year’s edition will be the On-Track Display, where visitors can view railway vehicles and technology directly on the tracks. New for 2025 is the Innovation Hub, dedicated to startups with breakthrough ideas, alongside the Tunnelling Area, showcasing tunnel construction and underground infrastructure equipment. The Aerospace Technology Hub will further demonstrate how aviation technologies can contribute to railway development.
The outdoor exhibition space promises several major attractions, including the new Coradia Stream passenger train produced by Alstom for Trenitalia, capable of reaching speeds of up to 200 km/h. FS Logistix will present a freight wagon equipped with a Digital Automatic Coupler (DAC), while SITAV will unveil a prototype hydrogen shunting locomotive developed under the FENHYCE project.
Shaping the Future of International Rail
EXPO Ferroviaria is not only about exhibitions but also about knowledge exchange. Conferences, seminars, technical presentations, and international B2B meetings are all part of the programme, offering opportunities to establish new business relations and foster inspiration for technological progress. The Milan fair is set to play a vital role in shaping the future of both Italian and international rail transport.
