EXPO Ferroviaria 2025: Technology, Business, and Inspiration in Milan

The 12th edition of EXPO Ferroviaria will take place from 30 September to 2 October 2025 at Fiera Milano Rho. The fair, Italy’s most important rail exhibition, will gather industry leaders, innovators, and enthusiasts from across Europe.

For more than two decades, the international EXPO Ferroviaria fair has been a key meeting place for rail companies and professionals. The upcoming 12th edition will be held in Milan from 30 September to 2 October 2025, offering visitors the chance to explore the latest technologies and products while establishing new business partnerships.

Two years ago, EXPO Ferroviaria welcomed over 11,000 participants, and this year’s edition aims to surpass that record. Entry to Italy’s most prominent rail exhibition is free of charge, with registration available online.

New Technologies and Startups Enrich the Programme

The exhibition floor will present a comprehensive spectrum of railway technologies — from rolling stock and components, to infrastructure, signalling, modern communication and ticketing systems. Displays will include long-distance and regional trains, metro and tram systems, as well as equipment for freight logistics. Materials and technologies for track construction and maintenance, traction and electrification systems, and passenger comfort solutions will also be showcased.

A key highlight will be the On-Track Display, allowing visitors to view rolling stock and rail technology directly on the tracks. Organisers have also introduced new features for 2025, including an Innovation Hub focused on startups with breakthrough solutions and an Aerospace Technologies Hub, demonstrating synergies between rail and aviation. Considerable attention will also be devoted to tunnelling and underground infrastructure, increasingly vital for the development of urban mobility.

EXPO Ferroviaria is not just an exhibition of technology, but also a platform for exchange of expertise. The supporting programme includes conferences, technical seminars, presentations, and workshops, complemented by international B2B meetings. These sessions give company representatives, operators, and academics the opportunity to discuss key topics and seek solutions for the future of rail transport.
