Can Europe Secure EUR 500 Billion for Rail? PKP and CER Push for Urgent Investment

Polish State Railways (PKP) and the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER), in collaboration with Poland’s EU presidency, hosted a strategic dinner debate in the European Parliament. The discussion focused on rail investment priorities and gathered top industry figures.

The event, part of Poland’s EU Council Presidency agenda, was officially sponsored by Polish MEP Dariusz Joński. In his speech, Joński highlighted the critical need for sustainable, long-term rail financing, emphasizing the EUR 500 billion required to complete the core TEN-T network by 2030. He also stressed the importance of green rail transport, decarbonization, and clean logistics development.
