ÖBB will expand the Attnang-Pucheim training workshop from 60 to 80 apprenticeship places. Starting in June 2023, basic training, laboratories, such as 3-print and laser, an EDP training room, and social areas, will be housed in a newly built hall. The transparent design of the annexe and a new main entrance facing Salzburger Strasse will ensure improved visibility in the cityscape. A glazed corridor will connect the L-shaped annexe with the old building.

Silvia Angelo, Member of the Management Board of ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG: "The addition of the apprentice workshop means that we will have more training places available in order to meet the demand for employees in specialist railroad professions even better in the future. Our apprentices receive forward-looking technical training under the most modern infrastructural conditions. After all, the best employees are a key factor for the successful future of the railroad."

Mayor Peter Groiß: "Attnang-Puchheim and the railroad - that has a long tradition. Good training is important for the future of young people. Many companies and the town as an employer have long recognized this. I am very pleased that ÖBB is contributing to the attractiveness of Attnang-Puchheim as a training location by enlarging and modernizing the training workshop."

ÖBB is currently training 45 apprentices - including 6 female technicians - at the Attnang Puchheim location in railroad professions: Electrical engineering, plant and operating technology, mechatronics, automation technology or metal technology, mechanical engineering technology, and track construction technology. In the fall, 18 new talents will be admitted.

The range of housing for ÖBB employees in Attnang-Puchheim is constantly being expanded. At the end of 2021, ÖBB completed the renovation of 13 accommodations. In 2023, 15 more apartments will have been refurbished.
