Drive the locomotive once or forever
Every day, locomotive drivers - actually they are "train drivers" - make the railroad the backbone of climate-friendly mobility. Local and long-distance trains reliably take passengers to a wide variety of destinations and thus play an important role in the public transport network. The "pilots on rails" move tons of goods across Austria in an environmentally friendly manner. In a 52-week training program, the new generation of railroad workers learns the technology and operation of locomotives and railcars. They also practice driving simulators before going into practice.
The ÖBB-Lokführer:innen career day offers the chance to:
