Agenda Bahnindustrie Frauen Awards that celebrates female exceptionality in the Railway industry just proved the fact that the railway industry is not exclusive to men only. The awards were handed to experts for outstanding innovations and pioneering projects, as well as companies with a special devotion to female equality in the rail industry.
The project submissions were divided into awards for individuals and awards for companies. The motto of the event was ´Honoring what has been achieved, accepting challenges´.
The ceremony took place on October 20, 2021, in Vienna and was attended by the jurors TU Vice-Rector Anna Steiger, Hatun Atasayar from the Board of Trustees for Road Safety, and Romana Rotschopf, deputy.
´Choosing the best,” tells Steiger, “wasn't exactly easy. But it wasn't just the enormous quality of the projects that caught the eye, especially the unbelievable creativity of the project presentation was really great.´
The winners of the awards were:
Michaela Haberler-Weber from ÖBB-Infrastruktur for her Project ´Greenlight´
Vera-Valerie CapekKrautgartnerfrom Rail Cargo Group for her project ´DAK´
For the Team category, the award went to Mirela Milovic, telecommunication services engineer for her Nightjet Maintenance Hall project.
The company award went to Wiener Linien for its FIT (women in technology) retraining program and was accepted by managing directors Alexandra Reinagl and Silke Neubauer.
