The Russian Federal Railway Certification Register has certified the United Wagon Company for its new model of a chemical tanker, which got mounted on a 25-ton axle chassis. It got specially designed to transport chemicals with a density of up to 1,036 t / m³. The first production of these rail freight cars has been completed and used by the transport and logistics corporation RN-Trans JSC, a subsidiary of NK Rosneft.
The tank wagon has a carrying capacity of 73 tons and a volume of 88 m3, which is 15 m3 (or 7 tons) more than other similar freight wagons on the market, which get mounted on bogies weighing 23.5 tons. Maximum efficiency and economy get achieved when using a tank truck to transport technical spirits, liquid hydrocarbons, and other liquid chemicals.
The tank is hermetically sealed and has a bent axis, which ensures maximum drainage. The company equips the upper part of the tank with a drain valve, which protects the tank from reaching dangerous pressure levels.
The new tank truck has extended intervals between scheduled service inspections, which gives it a significant competitive advantage over tanks mounted on the 18-100 and other similar chassis. The tank has additional raised platforms, making operating the truck more comfortable. The drain and filler connection and the loading cover get protected by an outer surface, which means UWC can use a single-element seal.
UWC hopes more companies will be interested in this new tank truck model and diversify its product range to better meet customer requirements.
“While working on the manufacture, our focus was on creating a customized product, wherever possible adapting the design specifically to meet the customer’s requirements. It allowed us to create a reliable and effective product that represents a better competitive choice for customers,” Ivan Mikhalevich, Sales Director at UWC, said.
