The unions at PKP CARGO had enough of their representative, Zenon Kozendra, and decided to remove him from the board.

They claim that Kozendra failed to act on crucial changes within the company, which is now struggling under a restructuring regime. The search is now on for a new advocate for employee rights.

The unions operating within PKP CARGO proposed to the supervisory board that the employee representative be removed from the board. PKP CARGO was required to inform the Warsaw Stock Exchange of this decision. The unions justified their proposal by citing Kozendra's long-standing inactivity in his role. They noted that he had not been active in company management and had taken no steps in the company's restructuring, despite the board being informed of the unions' concerns.

This dissatisfaction with the union leader on the board comes against the backdrop of PKP CARGO's ongoing restructuring efforts. Up to 30% of the workforce could face layoffs, depending on the decisions of the company's interim management.

It is expected that the unions will nominate a new board representative who will be much more active in advocating for employees and effectively representing their interests.
