Since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24th, the European community, governmental and non-governmental organizations have been collecting humanitarian aid and donations for Ukrainians. ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has been assisting with logistics services, ensuring fast, safe, and secure transport.
ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) is in charge of the transportation:
- from the Czech Republic to Ukraine: special trains from Prague to Kyiv depart three times a week; the company also provides its cars for aid transport;
- from Hungary to Ukraine: Rail Cargo Hungaria (RCH) transports relief supplies arriving at the border from Zahony to Chop in Ukraine, where they are further distributed by local organizations
- from Austria to Moldova: humanitarian aid (sleeping bags, diapers, towels, bed linen, hygiene items, etc.) is loaded onto the trains.
The ÖBB Rail Cargo Group regularly negotiates with non-governmental organizations to create customized logistics concepts for the transportation of various goods.
