The Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of Poland and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine signed a Memorandum on the development of trade facilitation instruments to strengthen cooperation between the countries and simplify trade procedures.

According to the memorandum, Ukraine and Poland will create a mechanism for providing insurance coverage for transport and cargo in the supply of goods and services. This will be done with the help of the Polish export credit agency KUKE. Thus, the trade turnover between Poland and Ukraine will be increased, which is a strategically important goal, given that since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the blockade of the Black Sea ports, the Polish direction has become a key one for Ukrainian exports.

"Thanks to the mentioned insurance instruments, Ukrainian businesses will be able to attract the widest possible list of Polish logistics companies to service the increased volume of export-import operations. In addition, Poland has become a hub for collecting and sending humanitarian aid from other countries to Ukraine. Half of the humanitarian cargo arrives through its territory," noted Yulia Svyrydenko, the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine.

The memorandum provides for a clear insurance mechanism for cargo and transport security that will protect Polish-Ukrainian trade relations from the Russian aggressor and help Ukraine strengthen cooperation with the European market.
