With approximately 22,000 job openings, DB has successfully continued its personnel plan during the second year of the pandemic while fulfilling its 2021 plan. The recruitments included over five thousand young professionals. That was a new record for the company. With the massive investments in personnel and qualification, DB wants to further strengthen the rail transport mode, thus making a decisive contribution to the mobility transition. DB Human Resources Director Martin Seiler stated: “The mobility transition needs committed employees.”
Chief Officer of Human resources has proudly welcomed four new employees from across the country during an online press conference. The new employees got initiated on behalf of thousands of co-workers. It is obvious that during the tough pandemic days, the applicants were looking for steady job positions. The fear of insecurity brought a wide range of applicants that applied for diverse positions.
DB issued most of the job offers in the following job groups
Rail and rail vehicle maintenance: around 2,720
engineers: around 2,410
train drivers: roughly 1,760
dispatchers: around 1,160
IT consulting, development, and implementation: around 1,230
