Due to the increasing demand for ecological rail transport between Austria and Belgium, the ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has decided to increase the frequency between Linz and Antwerp! Trains will now run six times a week instead of the previous five!

The TransFER Linz-Antwerp has been providing reliable and fast transportation on environmentally friendly railroads for seven years. This TransFER, formerly known as the "Austro-Belgian Shuttle", connects Western Europe with Southern and Southeastern Europe. The supply of nearby industrial companies in the Antwerp-Zeebrugge region is the central core function of the service portfolio, as well as the connection to the entire European Rail Cargo Group network.

TransFER Linz-Antwerp is a multifunctional connection with capabilities for conventional wagon traffic as well as container traffic.

The decision to increase the frequency of the two-way service on this connection was taken with immediate effect!

In addition, at the beginning of the year, RCG began transporting freight from Linz via Rheinkamp (near Duisburg) to Malmö in Sweden and back to Welsh, demand for which had been increasing from the start. Therefore, it was decided to increase the number of weekly flights to three. The number of loads can also be served on the train in Rheinkamp in the direction of Scandinavia or split from Scandinavia to other destinations (including within Germany, to France, Belgium, or the Netherlands). The travel time from Linz to Malmö is about 2 ½ days.

TransFER has several advantages, including:

-      sustainable traditional freight and container transport, including transportation of dangerous goods (RID)

-        comprehensive logistics solutions, including pre- and onward shipment arrangements

-        connections to and from Austria, Italy and the entire Southeast European region

-        additional forwarding services such as transhipment facilities, warehousing, customs services

-        up-to-date information on the transport status of the goods.
