Siemens Mobility recently received an order from Danish State Railways( DSB) for another 8 Vectron AC locomotives. The order means that more than 1,000 Vectron locomotives have just been booked for nearly 50 customers from 16 countries.
Vectrons are the most modern on the European market for universal locomotives with modular construction, which allows meeting the requirements and specifics of driving in different countries and under different operating conditions.
The locomotive was created to carry out various transport tasks, both passenger and freight. The efficiency and profitability of the implementation of traction tasks, adaptation of the vehicle in national and cross-border transport, as well as passenger and freight in Europe, were essential.
Used equipment variants allow operation in various traction propulsion systems and in different power variants. Siemens Mobility also offers a standard Smartron and Vectron Dual Mode locomotive for freight transport in selected countries.

The success of the Vectron locomotive is based on the concept of a platform that offers solutions for a wide range of transport tasks. Thanks to their modular locomotive design, they are durable, flexible, and versatile,“ said Sabrina Soussan, CEO of Siemens Mobility.
With the new order, the Vectron locomotive fleet operated by DSB grew to 42 locomotives. New vehicles will be used in passenger transport. Their deliveries began at the end of 2020.

Within a few years, Siemens Mobility sold a total of 1003 Vectron locomotives to 49 customers in 16 countries across Europe. More than 800 delivered vehicles have already driven more than 300 million kilometers.
Locomotives can be used in up to 19 European countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey).
