The Polish branch of Siemens Mobility has received an ECM certificate from the Office of Rail Transport for all its four maintenance functions. The company has already started the implementation of service contracts within Vectron's maintenance as an ECM entity for the companies LOTOS Kolej, CARGOUNIT, and Laude Smart Intermodal.
Since 2009, the Siemens Mobility service team has been providing maintenance and repair activities for Siemens locomotives running on Polish tracks. The group of 50 employees operates in three locations - Warsaw, Poznań, and Katowice. It services both the Eurosprinter family vehicles as well, as the most modern locomotives in Europe, for example, Vectrons, of which over 60 are in the hands of Polish carriers, and several hundred enter the tracks managed by PKP PLK every day.
With the implementation of the IV railway package by Poland, a certification obligation arose for all entities involved in the maintenance of rolling stock (including locomotives). Certification obligation to obtain the ECM certificate by June 2022. The maintenance entity must use a maintenance management system (MMS) that includes several procedures and procedures to minimize the risks associated with maintenance. Each subject needs to ensure the safe technical condition of vehicles operating on the rail network. The companies must also ensure that the vehicles are maintained and are following the documentation and guidelines laid down by the applicable regulations, including the TSI.
