To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the commissioning of the Netzleitzentrale (NLZ), the main control center for the railroad network in Germany, DB Netze decided to use the remarkable milestone to present an anniversary design on the Railpool 193 813 locomotive.
This way, the company sends a message of unity by promoting the slogan "Wir sind alle eins" ("We are all one") and paying tribute to the German #eisenbahnerfamilie (#railfamily). The idea is that in a highly competitive marketplace, the rail system can only function when the entire German railroad family works together.
Railpool 193 813, a Vectron AC locomotive, was delivered in 2014. Notably, it did not previously have the standard Railpool livery. It was painted white, but it has now been given a blue-gray paint job and depicts the landmarks of each city it is located in (Frankfurt am Main, Karlsruhe, Duisburg, Hannover, Leipzig, Munich, and S-Bahn-Berlin). In general, the locomotive is operated not only in Germany but also in Austria, Romania, and Hungary.
Matthias Oestreich, the unique design creator, presented the locomotive hand model in h0 scale. The locomotive will be available to various railroad operators in the following months.
