The supplier Alcufer Kft. and MÉH Zrt. will sign a framework agreement to continue their successful cooperation with Rail Cargo Hungaria Zrt. and Rail Cargo Logistics - Hungaria Kft. A document specifying the terms of service to be provided by the end of 2023 was signed on 7 January 2022 by Ferenc Horváth, CEO of Alcufer, Member of the Board of MÉH, Gábor Boda, CEO of MÉH, Zoltán Simó, Production Director of Alcufer, and Norbert Körös and Román Kotiers, members of the RCH Board of Directors, Gábor Márta, CEO of RCL-HU, and János Zagyi Logistics Direct RCL-HU.
The Györ-based group of companies, which has played a crucial role in collecting, trading, and recycling scrap metal for over three decades, sells more than 600,000 tonnes of recyclable waste a year. The newly signed contract contains conditions for the annual transport of approximately 400-450 thousand tons of scrap metal by the Hungarian subsidiaries of the Rail Cargo group.
The Alcufer Group operates in Hungary with nationwide operations. As a market leader in the field of single-vehicle transport, our company ensures the smooth transportation of scrap iron and metal from the automotive, engineering, construction, and electronics industries, production plants, and municipal services. Rail Cargo Hungaria organizes its predominantly single-car transport with a nationwide service network. Cooperation includes both national and international transportation.
The strategic framework agreement aims to increase the efficiency of rail logistics and the share of green rail freight, given that the railways have the lowest CO2 emissions in freight transport. Strengthening rail transport supports achieving the goals set out in the European green agreement.
