TransFER Bratislava-Koper RCG, which connects Central and Eastern Europe with the Mediterranean and the Far East, celebrated its fifth anniversary.
The ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) operates the transport between Bratislava and the port of Koper on environmentally friendly railroads. FCL (Full Container Load), intermodal flows of goods, are transported between Slovakia and Slovenia in 20 hours with aerial connections in the Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary almost every other day. ÖBB RCG also offers daily shipments to Czechia, Austria, and Hungary. Customers benefit from the possibility of a simplified transport contract with only one CIM per train instead of per consignment.
Since the introduction of TransFER Bratislava-Koper, the number of TEUs, twenty-foot equivalent units, transported has increased eightfold even despite the 2020-2021 Covid Crisis. Since then, asphalt, which is transported directly from Bratislava, has made up the largest share of the cargo transported.
