The Rail Cargo Group has three container terminals in the Czech Republic. Brno, Mělník and Přerov are central locations sites and important hubs for freight transport into Eastern and Western Europe.

Whether it comes to loading and unloading from wagons to trucks or from one wagon to another, RCG's terminals in the Czech Republic have ample container stackers, rail tracks and container capacities at their disposal. The RCG’s individual block train services as well as five TransFER services mean that the Czech Republic is ideally connected to all of Europe and even beyond into Asia:

  • Mělnik–Hamburg/Bremerhaven
  • Paskov–Gdansk

The terminals in detail

The freight terminal in Mělnik plays an important role for the Rail Cargo Group. Containers, swap bodies and semi-trailers are transshipped here on the 33,000 m2 premises. The terminal has four container stackers available for this purpose.

The Brno Terminal is also developing well thanks to the high demand for combined goods transport. The transshipment of containers, swap bodies and semi-trailers is carried out on three 300-metre railway sidings with the help of two container stackers. Services like repairs and container cleaning are also carried out here.

The Přerov Terminal is our main terminal in the Moravia region for onward connections on our TransFER Mělnik-Hamburg/Bremerhaven and is connected to Melnik with an overnight transit time. It has a total area of 16,000 m2 and a capacity of 1,300 TEU. Loading and unloading can be carried out here with the help of two container stackers.

Economy and mobility go hand in hand

Last year, the Czech economy grew by an average of 2.4%. The automotive industry is a key industry in the Czech Republic, making it one of the 15 largest automotive nations in the world. Mobility is also increasing on account of the country’s growing economy. The associated increase in transport services, especially combined transport services, requires high-quality infrastructure with professional equipment. The RCG Terminals in the Czech Republic have definitely got it all covered.

The RCG in the Czech Republic

We transport goods in our container trains to Mělnik both to and from the German Ports of Bremerhaven and Hamburg, as well as to and from the Slovenian Port of Koper to Bratislava, Žilina, Vratimov, Paskov and Kaliningrad. Our rail services link countries in Western, Southern and Southeastern European with economic markets in the CIS countries and Asia.
