The Supervisory Board of Polish national railway carrier PKP CARGO has approved the purchase of 5 more multi-system Vectron locomotives from Siemens Mobility. The contract also includes maintenance of these vehicles until the first repair at the P4 level (8 years), supply of software for maintenance and operation of locomotives, new spare parts and components within the so-called emergency package and training of PKP CARGO personnel.
The value of the contract is approximately PLN 139 million 125 thousand net and the schedule envisages the delivery of all locomotives in the first quarter of 2023. The locomotives will be deployed on international lines in Poland, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
The Supervisory Board announced that the purchase of these locomotives takes place within the project “Multiple-system locomotives and intermodal wagons”, which is financed from EU funds.
