Starting last weekend, a new intermodal rail service commenced, offering a direct freight connection between Italy and Serbia.
This link, which connects the Interporto di Cervignano near Trieste, Italy, with the DPT Pancevo terminal near Belgrade, Serbia, marks a significant step in enhancing logistic efficiencies across the region. The service will initiate with one weekly round trip, with plans to potentially double depending on the demand. It is expected that each journey will take about 48 hours.

The new rail service aims to accommodate various cargo types, including P400 semi-trailers, swap bodies, and 45'/40' containers, reflecting the versatility and capacity of the service to manage different unit sizes.
To aid shippers, the service will include numerous value-added features like first and last-mile services, customs documentation assistance, and an optional unit provisioning service that offers 45' HC Dry/Reefer containers and swap bodies with curtain sides.
