With increased capacity and a new service link between Italy, Germany, and Benelux, Kombiverkehr KG offers its freight forwarding and logistics customers a broader spectrum of intermodal services on this important European transport corridor through Switzerland.

From 6 September, trains between Mortara and Krefeld and between Mortara and Rotterdam CTT will make a total of five round trips per week. The existing product on the Mortara - Gent vv route will be upgraded from five to six weekly train departures in each direction. There will be eight weekly round trips on this route starting in January 2022.

Also on September 9, the Cabooter terminal in Venlo, the Netherlands, will be added to the Benelux / Italy product range with five departures per week in each direction.

"Since the Mortara services have been integrated into our international network, the volume of shipments on these routes has increased. Many existing and new customers have ensured the use of high train capacity," explained Peter Dannewitz, manager of sales, on the new arrival in the product range. "With the addition of the Cabooter terminal in Greenport Venlo, we are also gaining access to one of the strongest shopping and logistics centers in the Netherlands with an excellent multimodal transport infrastructure in high demand by customers."

The services to and from Mortara, managed in collaboration with BLS Cargo, SBB Cargo and Captrain Italia, joined the Frncoforte operator's network from February 2021.
