The steam locomotive affectionately known as "Heligón" was produced by the Imperial-Royal State Railways between 1885 and 1909. This four-rail freight locomotive gained significant popularity among carriers. Impressively, 454 units were crafted, but only three remain today.
Locomotive number 414.096 began its service in 1906. While its initial operational area remains a mystery, we know it served at the Prague-Smichov station before being transferred to České Budějovice. From there, its operation ceased, and it was relocated to the railway museum in Lužná near Rakovník. Following a meticulous reconstruction spanning over fifty years, the locomotive was restored to working order. In 2019, it embarked on its inaugural public journey. Today, enthusiasts can enjoy rides on this historic locomotive, courtesy of events hosted by the Railway Museum.
