VTG further expands established offerings. Container and pocket wagons available for ad-hoc tranports. Bookings can be made around the clock on the online platform traigo

Already well established in ports such as Rotterdam and Gothenburg, VTG FastTrack is now going live at two further key European traffic nodes. With immediate effect, the service can also be booked at the ports in Trieste and Venlo. VTG FastTrack maximizes customers’ flexibility. Thanks to this 24/7 online service, they can book extra transport capacity quickly and easily – even for short-term orders and to handle peak order loads. “VTG FastTrack has helped us establish a premium service across Europe – a service that is instrumental in connecting the ports concerned,” says Sven Wellbrock, Chief Operating Officer Europe and Chief Safety Officer at VTG AG. “The ability to supply wagons at short notice and with digital support creates transport capacity that, in the past, would mostly have been handled by road. So as well as offering an attractive service to our customers, we are also playing a part in achieving the environmental policy target of getting more goods off the roads and onto the rails.”

Exclusive cooperation in Trieste

The Italian port of Trieste bundles short-sea continental shopping and maritime transports. It is also a pivotal transshipment terminal for numerous operators and ship owners. Here, VTG FastTrack will initially engage in exclusive cooperation with local partner Adriafer, the port’s own marshaling company. A full complement of 16 TWIN wagons (double pocket wagons) suitable for the transportation of semitrailers, swap bodies and containers is available on demand here starting now. But plans already exist to expand this service and also open it up to additional customers and potential customers.

Online bookings via traigo in Venlo

The same ad-hoc transport service is likewise available with immediate effect at the Dutch port of Venlo, where it is operated by Cabooter. In Venlo, customers can place bookings around the clock for a set of 23 90-foot container wagons for maritime and continental transports. The service is again made possible by the innovative traigo booking and analysis platform. bundles VTG’s digital rail freight offerings, providing customers with a central interface to digital fleet management.
