Multimodal transport operator Hupac has acquired a stake in the company's WienCont container terminal, located in the port of Freudenau (Vienna). The owners of the WienCont terminal are now Hafen Wien - 91.68%, CN Logistics and Service Group - 4.16%, and Hupac - 4.16%.

About 50 Hupac trains run daily via Budapest (Hungary, Duisburg, and Ludwigshafen (Germany), Istanbul / Halkali (Turkey) and Rotterdam via the WienCont terminal, which serves three modes of transport (rail, road, and water), Bucharest / Ploiesti (Romania) and Busto Arsizio (Italy).

Occupying an area of ​​170 thousand. m² terminal accepts containers/semi-trailers of all types, has storage sites for 10 thousand. TEU, is equipped with three gantry cranes and 15 container loaders, which process more than 400 thousand TEU per year. The terminal is powered by the Danube Freudenau hydroelectric power station.

Hupac's investment strategy is aimed not only at developing the fleet of operating rolling stock but also at equipping terminals. Construction work is currently underway at sites in Piacenza, Milan, and Novara (Italy). In the spring of 2021, the construction of a container terminal began in Brwinów near Warsaw. Here, on an area of ​​14 hectares, there will be four roads with a minimum length of 750 m, a storage area of ​​42 thousand. м². Container handling will be provided by forklifts.
