As a Romanian commercial entity, GRAMPET Rail Cargo—owned primarily by GRAMPET—commands a significant presence in the national rail sector. Certified by the Romanian Railway Authority (AFER), GRAMPET Rail Cargo is authorized for rolling stock operation and maintains a robust safety management system in line with European Union regulations.
The company holds a contract for public infrastructure access with CN CFR and operates on approximately 80% of the Romanian railway. GRAMPET Rail Cargo sustains an integrated management system ensuring quality, environment, health, and occupational security, aligning with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and OHSAS 18001:2008 standards. Beyond this, the company is certified for a freight wagon maintenance system, meeting EU regulation 445/2011, and operates as an Entity Responsible for the Maintenance (ERM) of wagons.
Founded in 2002 under the name Servtrans Invest SA, GRAMPET Rail Cargo operates under the Romanian Ministry of Transportation's purview. The company owns and operates 65 locomotives and 901 freight wagons, conducting freight and rail manoeuvring primarily in the Constanta Railway complex. To support logistics and resource management, a working point at CF Palas station has been established, and freight wagon maintenance is undertaken at the Caracal Working Point. With these strategic initiatives and continued adherence to international standards, GRAMPET Rail Cargo continues to reinforce its vital role in the Romanian rail industry.
