Global Ocean Link, the leading container carrier in Ukraine, has opened a new multimodal terminal near the Polish border called the Mostiska Container Terminal. This project was launched in cooperation with the operator MOST Logistic Terminal. The aim of the project is to develop high-speed intermodal railway connections between Ukraine and the European Union.

The entire infrastructure of the terminal is located in the village of Mostiska in close proximity to the Mostiska-II railway border crossing and the nearby M11 international highway.  The main impetus for the construction of the terminal is the still growing demand for container trains between Ukraine and the EU on the one hand and the intensive development of the China-EU connection on the other.

As part of its services, the new terminal offers customers two warehouses (5,000 m2 and 2,000 m2), an open warehouse with an area of more than 10 hectares, a container depot with a capacity of 400 TEU, 8 loading ramps for cars, cargo handling services, customs clearance, etc.

In a press release, the company summarizes that, using all the possibilities of the GOL terminal, it can cover any multimodal logistics chain to/from the EU for any type of transport.  The total time of rail transport is expected to be gradually shortened, which will cause serious competition for road transport and become an alternative type of logistics in connection with the EU.
