LTG Cargo Polska is expanding its locomotive fleet with a notable acquisition. The carrier recently took possession of the EU07-155, a locomotive with an intriguing backstory.

It was restored to operational status by Olkol after being out of service for 15 years and initially served as a replacement engine during repairs. Following the dissolution of Olkol, LTG Cargo Polska leased the locomotive for an extended period. It comes on the heels of the carrier’s previous purchase of a modernized M62M from Rail Polska in October.

Maciej Cetnerowski, Director of Intermodal Development at LTG Cargo Polska, has informed that the company aims to have 30 locomotives in operation by the end of the year, up from the current count of 20. This acquisition is part of the company's larger growth strategy, which includes significant intermodal routes. Cetnerowski cited key connections such as those operated with Eurospirnter locomotives from Duisburg to Kaunas (the terminal for Lithuanian Railways) and Sławków (the LHS terminal). Diesel locomotives, like the recently acquired models, serve the non-electrified Sokółka - Trakiszki section.

LTG Cargo Polska's expansion is not limited to Poland; the company also has a footprint in Ukraine with freight connections entering Ukrainian territory. It makes the new acquisition an integral part of the company's ambitious growth plans not just within Poland but across international routes as well.
